Biscuits & Gravy

Serving Ingredient Notes
1 can Biscuits Can use buttermilk or flaky
Varies [OPTIONAL] “Meat” crumbles Vegan or vegetarian ground beef alternative, for texture
1 tablespoon Flour  
1 tablespoon Butter  
1 cup Milk Can substitute non-dairy milk

For 2 people

Serving Ingredient Notes
1.5 cups Breakfast potatoes or hashbrowns Serving size varies but ~2/3 cup/person should work
4 whole Eggs Serving size varies by preference but ~2 eggs per persons should work

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven for biscuits.
  2. If using “meat” crumbles, cook those while baking biscuits.
  3. Place biscuits in the oven and bake according to packaging instructions.
  4. Sides:
    1. Cooking potatoes and eggs at the same time is recommended, but it will require 3 or more burners, and you may want to prepare eggs before starting.
  5. Gravy:
    1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and stir in flour to make a roux.
    2. Add milk and let it bubble and thicken, stirring frequently.
    3. Add salt and lots of pepper.
    4. It’s done when it’s thick enough to stick to the spoon.
  6. Cut biscuits in half and pour gravy over them.
  7. Serve biscuits and gravy by itself or with sides.
